Anti-reflux Surgery and Hiatus Hernia

Surgery for Reflux and hiatus hernia

Gastroesophageal reflux inadequately controlled with medication can be treated effectively with laparoscopic fundoplication, or in some case gastric bypass. Hiatus hernias often predispose to reflux and can be repaired with keyhole surgery.

Gallbladder Disease & Gallstones

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Removal of the gallbladder (cholecystectomy) is recommended in patients with symptoms due to gallstones; both to treat the symptoms and also to prevent other complications such as infection or pancreatitis.

Abdominal wall & Hernia

Minimally Invasive Hernia Repair

Abdominal wall hernias often cause pain, discomfort and may cause other emergency complications. We use state of the art minimally invasive techniques that reduce pain and recovery time. Often this surgery can be done as a day case or overnight stay.

Gastrointestinal cancer

Surgical Oncology – Oesophagogastric & Colorectal Cancer

We have expertise in the diagnosis, management and aftercare of gastrointestinal cancer. We work in collaboration with a multi-disiplinary team including your GP, medical & radiation oncologists, pathologists and radiologists and other healthcare professionals to comprehensively manage your treatment. Where required we collaborate with interstate colleagues to optimise your treatment and ensure the best outcome.

Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy Services

Advanced endoscopy

Colonoscopy & Gastroscopy

Endoscopic investigations (gastroscopy or colonoscopy) are often required to diagnose problems with the gastrointestinal tract. Our surgeons are accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australasia (GESA) to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
